LaRoche, Nall -- Hitter, Pitcher of the Week

Each week throughout the season, LAdugout. com has saluted a Dodger player and pitcher for outstanding accomplishments in the past seven days. For the final week of the season, players selected from Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Vero Beach, Columbus, Ogden and the Gulf Coast Dodgers are:

Andy LaRoche, 3b, Las Vegas- LaRoche didn't receive the expected call-up from the Dodgers but he certainly closed his year in a big way. For 15 at-bats, he lined seven hits including three doubles and a home run, good for five RBI. His Vegas totals at the end were .322-10-35.

T. J. Nall, rhp, Jacksonville- Jacksonville was quickly eliminated in the Southern League playoffs but that was certainly no fault of Nall. In the third game of the series against Montgomery, he threw eight innings of shutout ball in which he allowed only three hits, walked one and struck out eight. However, the Suns lost the game in the ninth, 2-0. Further, in his final regular season game, Nall had gone six scoreless innings against Carolina so for the week he threw 14 innings in which he gave up only five hits, no runs, walked two and struck out 13. For the year, he was 10-7, 2.82 and led the league in strikeouts with 155.
