Prospect # 55- Francisco Lizarraga

Today we start a look at the top prospects in the Dodger system. This will be done in reverse order as we count down to the very best.

Name- FRANCISCO J. LIZARRAGA
Position- Shortstop
Residence- Mazatlan, Mex.
DOB- Oct. 1, 1985
Ht-6-1

B/T- S-R
How Obtained- Signed as a free agent, 2002

Lizarraga moved to the United States to play ball this year after spending two seasons in the Dominican League and one in his native Mexico. He's a spray hitter with strong wrists who proved to be one of the leaders for the Gulf Coast Dodgers, who won their division, hitting .270-1-20.

He'll never be a power hitter but does have the ability to make contact. He has the requisites to play short- good hands and feet action with a strong arm. He's fairly fast and can steal a base now and then . He will probably play at Ogden in 2007.
