Dodgers Schedule 35-game Exibtion Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers, the defending NL West Co-Champions, will play a 35-game Spring Training exhibition schedule for 2007 which begins on Thursday, March 1 at Orlando with the home opener on Friday, March 2 against the Washington Nationals at Holman Stadium in Vero Beach, Florida.

The 2007 season marks the Dodgers' 60th year at Dodgertown and the 55th season of play at Holman Stadium.

Dodger pitchers, catchers and players rehabilitating from injuries will report to Dodgertown on Feb. 16 with their first workout on Feb. 17. The remainder of the team will report on Feb. 20 with the first full-squad workout taking place on Feb. 21.

During the Grapefruit League competition, the Dodgers will play 16 games at Holman Stadium including four night games: March 8 vs. Florida, March 15 vs. Washington, March 20 vs. St. Louis and March 21 vs. New York Mets with all four contests slated to begin at 7:05.

The Dodgers will face off with 12 different teams during the Grapefruit League season including five meetings each with Washington and Florida.

In addition, they will take on the defending World Champion St. Louis Cardinals and the defending NL Eastern Division Champion New York Mets four times each.

The exhibition schedule also includes two games against the defending AL Champion Detroit Tigers, the Boston Red Sox and the Atlanta Braves.

The Dodgers' Grapefruit League competition will conclude on Thursday, March 29 with a split squad contest against the New York Mets at Holman Stadium. That same evening, the second game of the split squad, the Dodgers will begin the 37th annual Freeway Series by hosting the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Dodger Stadium at 7:10 (PT).

The full team will be back in Los Angeles to take on the Angels in Game Two of the Freeway Series at Dodger Stadium on Friday, March 30.

The full squad will head south to close out the series at Angel Stadium on Saturday before traveling to Milwaukee to open the 2007 regular season against the Brewers on Monday, April 2 at Miller Park.
