Dodger prospect #43- Luke May is taking a look at the top prospects in the Dodger organization. Here's another as we count down to the very best.

Position- Outfield/ Catcher
Residence- Chesterfield, Mo.
DOB- Oct. 24, 1984
Ht- 6-0
B/T- R/R
How Obtained- Drafted in the eighth round 2003
06 Club- Columbus (South Atlantic)

There are three factors that have projected May onto this list. First, he was healthy and got in a full season for the first time in three years.

Second, he began displaying muscles, doubling his home run output to 18 and leading the organization in triples with nine.

Third, they began working him out as a catcher in the Arizona Instructional League where he showed aptitude for the position.

He has a strong arm and if he continues to display the skills to catch on a regular basis, he could become very valuable.

He still strikes out too much (130 times in 2006) but, despite that, he steadily raised his average to a respectable .273.

What's more, there are few who play the game harder than he does; he's an earnest, positive performer. He runs above average, stealing 14 of 16.

In all, he's becoming a player to watch carefully. He should play with Inland Empire in the California League in 2007.
