He's been very much an enigma during his time in the organization. He often has demonstrated superior stuff. Yet, many a time he hasn't been able to work his way out of difficult situations

When he's right he throws a fast ball that gets up into the mid-90's, a nasty curve and a change that seems to be coming along. Still, that doesn't always seem to accompany him to the mound.

His record has been mediocre. Last year he finished 3-5, 5.86 with Ogden. Opposing hitters banged him around for a .305 average. And there have been physical problems. He had to be shut down early in his rookie season with a tired arm and he worked hard to overcome that.

Perhaps he worked too hard because he again had tightness in his arm in spring training. He came back though, threw exceptionally well and began the season in style only to disintegrate again.

The Dodgers haven't lost faith. They think as he matures he'll learn more about keeping an even tempo and how to handle adversity. That he'll have to do in order to take advantage of the physical talent that he undoubtedly has.

A good spring will see him join Great Lakes . If the problems persist, he might have to spend another year at Ogden.
