Tydus Meadows Signs With Brewers

Having given the Dodgers two good years at Jacksonville but not good enough to gain him a big league call, outfielder Tydus Meadows is moving on having signed a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers as a free agent.

Meadows did get non-roster invitations to spring training in both 2005 and 2006 but never was seriously considered as a roster addition. This past year he was recovering from a shoulder operation most of the spring but went on to hit .299 with 11 home runs for Jacksonville

He did a call-up to Las Vegas during the season but managed to get into only nine games , batting . 278 before he was sent back to Jacksonville. A former star at Vanderbilt, Meadows is 29 years old. He joined the Dodgers in 2005 as a free agent out of the Rangers organization.
