Players Of Week- Paul, Kershaw

Each week salutes a Dodger organization player and pitcher for outstanding accomplishments in the past seven days. Players are currently selected from Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Inland Empire and Great Lakes.

PLAYER-- Xavier Paul, Of, Jacksonville. Paul became the latest Jacksonville player to get hot with the bat as he slammed 13 hits in 28 at-bats including his first home run of the season plus three doubles, driving in four runs.

He now has a nine game hitting streak dating back to Apr. 20. During that period he has raised his batting average to .298.

PITCHER-- Clayton Kershaw, lhp, Great Lakes. The top-rated player in the organization, Kershaw looked the part as he went six innings against Cedar Rapids, Apr. 24, in which he did allow the first home run ever hit off him as a pro but only gave up two other hits.

During that stretch he struck out 12 while walking only one. For the season, he now is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA. In 19 innings, he's struck out 28 while walking 12.
