Player, Pitcher of Week- Berezay, White

Each week LAdugout.com salutes a player and pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments. They are chosen from those with Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Inland Empire, Great Lakes, Ogden, the Gulf Coast Dodgers and the Dominican Summer League Dodgers. This week's winners:

Player Matt Berezay, of, Great Lakes. While Great Lakes is having a rough go in its inaugural season, Berezay has steadily picked up the pace for the Loons. Currently riding an 11-game hitting streak, Berezay hit .500 this past week (13-for-26) including five doubles and a home run.

For the season he's now hitting .284 with nine home runs, 29 doubles, eight stolen bases and 51 runs batted in.

Pitcher Cody White, lhp, Inland Empire. White made the move up to Inland Empire from Great Lakes in very good style and had two strong starts this past week. On Aug. 7 against Lake Elsinore, he went seven innings in which he gave up only three hits and a run. He followed that on Sunday with another seven-innings stint against Rancho Cucamonga in which he allowed only five hits and a lone run.

White is now 2-1 with a 3.78 ERA since his promotion to the Dodgers' entry in the California League.
