Player, Pitcher of the Week- McDougall, Blevi

Each week LAdugoutcom salutes a player and pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments. They are chosen from those with Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Inland Empire, Great Lakes, Ogden, the Gulf Coast Dodgers and the Dominican League Dodgers. This week's winners:

Player Marshall McDougall, 3b, Las Vegas. McDougall, a minor league free agent pickup this past off-season, has done well for both Jacksonville and Las Vegas. This past week for the 51's, he lined 16 hits in 31 at-bats, a .516 clip. There was a lot of power in there, too, with four home runs and five doubles. That produced 12 RBI.

Since being promoted to Las Vegas, McDougall is hitting .301 with six homers and 29 runs batted in.

Pitcher Bobby Blevins, rhp, Ogden. - Ogden hasn't had much to cheer about this season but Blevins has proved reliable on the mound. On Sunday, the 13th-round draft pick from Siena University was superb. Facing Missoula, he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning when a bloop double just inside the right field foul line spoiled it.

In his six innings, besides that lone hit, he walked only one while striking out six.

For the season, Blevins is 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA. He's shown excellent control, walking only eight while striking out 40 in 45.2 innings.
