Shortstop Jaime Pedroza and outfielder Jovanny Rosario are those selected for the honor as both have stood out even as the Raptors as a team have fallen from grace.
Pedroza, a ninth-round selection in June's draft from UC- Riverside, hit
.360 before his recent promotion to Inland Empire. Even though his older brother Sergio, who was in the system before being traded last year to Tampa Bay, is the family member noted for power hitting, Jaime did well there, too, hitting eight home runs and driving in 40 runs in the 56 games he played.
Rosario, a speedster, who played for the Gulf Coast Dodgers in 2006, has been the leadoff man for the Raptors this season. He's currently batting .324 with five home runs and 31 runs batted in. On the bases he's stolen 21 in 29 attempts.
