Ogden Players take final honors of the year

Each week LAdugout.com salutes a player and pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments. They are selected from those with Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Inland Empire, Great Lakes, Ogden, the Gulf Coast Dodgers and the Dominican Dodgers. This winner's winners:

Player, Pitcher of Week - Rosario, Krise Player Jovanny Rosario, of, Ogden. Rosario has worn the title of "fastest man in the organization" since he won the Dodgertown Derby in 2006. Now, he's become quite a hitter. He finished his season with a flourish, collecting 11 hits in 24 at-bats, a .458 clip. In that total were three doubles and a triple.

For the season Rosario hit .331 with five home runs. He used that speed to steal 22 bases in 30 attempts.

Pitcher Kris Krise, rhp, Ogden. It hadn't been all that much of a season for Krise- until his last two starts. Coming back from arm surgery, he won his first start for Ogden, then lost six in succession until those final two of the year, both against Orem. In the first on Sept, 1, he went seven innings, allowing just three hits and one unearned run. He didn't walk a man while striking out 10.

Then, on Sept. 6, he pitched six innings in which the Owlz managed only four hits and a run. He walked two while striking out five in that effort.

For the season, Krise finished with a 2-6 record with a 6.22 earned run average but those last two starts showed what he's capable of when he's right
