Hu, Kershaw Named To All-Prospect Team

The Sporting News has named an All-Prospect team that salutes the players who are the coming stars at each position- and two Dodgers are on it. Chin-lung Hu was chosen as the shortstop and Clayton Kershaw as the lefthanded pitcher on the 10-man squad of those that the publication feels will become the big league's best best and brightest.

Hu was chosen for hitting .325 between Jacksonville and Las Vegas as well as his superior fielding skills. Kershaw for achieving success in AA at age 19. Although his combined won-loss record between Great Lakes and Jacksonville was only 8-7, he had a combined ERA of 2.95, held opposing batters to a .204 mark and struck out l163 batters in 122 innings.

Some of the other players on the team have already achieved major league attention including the righthanded pitcher, Clay Buchholz of the Red Sox, who pitched a no-hitter in his second start after being called up.

Others chosen were catcher Geovanny Soto (Cubs), first baseman Joey Votto (Reds), second baseman Matt Antonelli (Padres), third baseman Evan Longoria (Devil Rays), and outfielders Jay Bruce (Reds), Colby Rasmus (Cardinals) and Adam Jones (Mariners).

Bruce was named the Minor League Player of the Year.
