Hu Stays Hot in Arizona Debut

Chin-lung Hu has just finished a season in which he did so well that he was named the Player of the Year by the organization. Now, he looks like he plans to build on that if his opening game in the Arizona Fall League is any indication.

Playing shortstop for the Peoria Saguaros, Hu ripped a double and single in their opening victory over Scottsdale as the league got going Tuesday. This is the second straight season for Hu in the league- last year he didn't hit all that much here as well as for Jacksonville. However, he more than made up for that this time around for Jacksonville and Las Vegas and seems primed to do well in the AFL, too.

The Saguaros edged Scottsdale 4-3 with Wesley Wright also a contributor to that victory, pitching two scoreless innings in which the smallish lefthander allowed just one hit, walked two and struck out three. Justin Orenduff also went two, giving up one hit and a run, walking one and fanning one.

Xavier Paul was hitless in the victory. The other Dodgers assigned to the Saguaros, Blake DeWitt, and pitchers Greg Miller, Zach Hammes and Cory Wade saw no action.
