McDonald First Team on BA's Minor Stars

Baseball America has been busy handing out post-season accolades and Dodger farmhands have been the recipients of some of those.

Righthander James McDonald has been named to the Minor League All-Star first team for going 13-9 with a 3.07 ERA split between Inland Empire and Jacksonville. McDonald struck out 168 batters in 146 innings.

The second team includes Chin-lung Hu at shortstop and Jon Meloan as the relief pitcher. Both started the year at Jacksonville, then moved up to Las Vegas. Hu compiled a.326-14-62 record between those two teams with 15 stolen bases. Meloan was 7-2, 3.30 with a total of 20 saves. he struck out 91 in 67 innings, holding batters to a combined .156 mark.

In addition, Meloan was named the relief pitcher on the AA All-Star team. Dodgers were blanked in all other classification star units.

The publication selected Hu as the organization's Player of the Year and lefthander Clayton Kershaw as the Pitcher of the Year. Kershaw had a combined record of 8-7, 2.95 between Great Lakes and Jacksonville with 163 strikeouts in 122 innings. Batters only managed a 201 mark against him.
