Fall, Winter League Report

Each week, LADugout.com is presently a roundup of what's going on with Dodger farmhands in the various leagues currently operating. Those include the Arizona Fall League, Hawaii Winter League, Mexican Pacific Coast, Dominican and Venezuelan.

ARIZONA FALL- The Peoria Saguaros, the team Dodger players are with, is hopelessly out of the race at 8-15. Dodger pitchers are still looking for their first victory themselves. Wesley Wright is 0-1, 5.28, Justin Orenduff, 0-1, 3.00, Zach Hammes, 0-1, 6.75, Cory Wade, 0-0, 1.23 and Greg Miller, 0-2, 12.38. Miller has thrown eight innings in which he's given up 16 hits, walked seven and struck out 13.

Third baseman Blake DeWitt continues to hit with a .350 average while outfielder Xavier Paul has moved his average up to .268. Neither has hit a home run.

HAWAII WINTER- The West Oahu CaneFires have been eliminated from the post-season with only an 8-19 mark. First baseman Russ Mitchell is the best among the Dodger hitters with a .257 mark. He's gone yard twice. Outfielder Jamie Hoffmann is at .243-0, outfielder Ryan Rogowski, .215-1 with five steals, third baseman Josh Bell, .203-1, and catcher Kenley Jansen, .192-0.

Steve Johnson leads the team's pitchers with a 2-2, 2.78 record. He's pitched 24,.2 innings in which he's walked only three while striking out 19. In contrast, Kyle Wilson is 0-3, 9.77 and Garrett White, 0-1, 7.88.

MEXICAN PACIFIC - First baseman John Lindsey is currently batting .282 with three homers. Sergio Garcia, though, is down at .205 with one homer.

The pitchers are generally doing well. Mauricio Tequida (1-0, 1.72) has one save. Francisco Felix is 0-1, but has an 0.69 ERA and has fanned 16 batters in 13 innings. Thomas Melgarejo is 0-1, 3.86 and Jesus Rodriguez, 2-0, 2.52.

DOMINICAN- Marlon Arias made his debut here by throwing two scoreless innings. Ramon Troncoso, though, has had problems, as an 0-1, 21.60 record would indicate.

VENEZUELA -Infielder Juan Gonzalez is hitting .214; Eduardo Perez can't get going and has only a .167 mark. Jonathan Figuroa was hit hard in his latest effort and now is 1-1, 4.15. Joey Norrito is currently 2-1, 2.14 and Miguel Pinango is 0-1, 2.86.
