LaRoche's Two HR's Paces Team USA

The way they've been hitting lately, Team USA only has to get either Andy LaRoche or Delwyn Young up enough times and things will turn out well. Saturday Young was the hero; Sunday, it was the turn of LaRoche.

Actually, the whole team hit well in a 12-2 frolic past Spain but it was LaRoche who did it best. The American squad sent six homers flying out of the ballyard with two of those off Andy's bat.

The victory gave USA a 4-1 record for the World Cup tournament and kept them one-half game ahead of both host Taiwan and Italy in Pool A as the opening round pressed toward a close.

LaRoche's first blast came in the first with a man aboard. His second was part of a seven-run seventh inning and again was with one on.

Former Dodger Justin Ruggiano, now with the Rays, added an RBI single in the assault.
