Until this past season Rosario was noted for winning the sprints in spring training that established him as the fastest man on the organization. When he began adding some serious hitting for Ogden- a .331 average- further attention must be paid.

Actually, in his three years in the Dominican Summer League and one in the Gulf Coast, Rosario always had the look of a budding hitter- of the singles variety, of course. True, he did send five out of the park at Ogden but you can blame that on the rarified atmosphere there more than he's muscling up. No, he's a switch-hitter who gets the most out of his legs and is improving on the basepaths, too, stealing 22 of 30 for the Raptors.

He's still too much of a free swinger but he's learning there. The biggest rap against him is his size for he's Lilliputian but you Dustin Pedroia fans know that sometimes the little man wins out. And if he has another solid year with the bat, he'll gain even more believers.

He should open 2008 at Great Lakes.
