Roster Announced for China Trip

The Dodgers announced the traveling squad for next week's goodwill trip to China, headlined by position starters Andruw Jones, Nomar Garciaparra and Matt Kemp and veteran utility man Mark Sweeney, Ken Gurnick of announced.

The series consists of games March 15-16 between the Dodgers and San Diego Padres at Wukesong Stadium, site of this summer's Olympic Games baseball competition. Game times are 1 p.m. local (10 p.m. PT, one day earlier, March 14-15).

The squad will be led by manager Joe Torre, while Hall of Fame manager Tom Lasorda will remain in Florida and manage the remaining players in Grapefruit League action. Torre's China coaching staff consists of Mariano Duncan, Lorenzo Bundy, John Shoemaker and Bill Mueller.

Because of a mix-up with the original charter company, the Dodgers will leave on March 12, one day later than originally planned.
