  HOW HOWARD DOES IT: 2B Kevin Howard is hitting .429 (9-for-21) with a homer and six RBI through his first six games…the left-handed hitter, who graduated from Westlake High School in 2000, has put together a string of four straight two-hit games…he is 5-for-8 (.625) with runners in scoring position.  

BIG JOHN: 1B John Lindsey is batting .393 (11-for-28) with three RBI in his first six games…the 31-year-old had a 27-game hitting streak dating to August 14, 2007 before going 0-for-3 with a walk Tuesday vs. Colorado Springs…he hit safely in his final 22 games last season with Las Vegas and in the first five contests of the 2008 campaign, batting .371 (43-for-116) during the 27-game tear…Lindsey was a non-roster invitee at Dodger Spring Training this year, and hit .308 (8-for-26) with a home run and six RBI in 11 games before being reassigned to minor league camp on March 16.  

TIFFEE LOOKING SPIFFY: 1B/3B Terry Tiffee is hitting .571 (16-for-28) with six doubles, two homers, and seven RBI through his first seven games…the switch hitter, who signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in November, has already logged four games with three hits...Tiffee hit .188 in 11 games during Dodger Spring Training before being reassigned to minor league camp.  

TELL ME ABOUT MIGUEL: RHP Miguel Pinango has struck out 15 in 11.0 innings of work during his first two starts…he does have a 4.91 ERA thus far with a pair of no-decisions…the 25-year-old Venezuela native went 10-7 with a 4.12 ERA in 23 starts with Triple-A Las Vegas in 2007…he re-signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in January.  

YEAH, BABY!:  LHP Mike Myers has struck out eight and allowed only one run in 5.1 innings through his first five appearances…the 38-year-old, who signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers after being released March 27, is limiting left-handed batters to a .125 average (1-for-8) with four strikeouts.

SWEET BABY JAMES: OF James Tomlin has hit safely in his first five games, batting .353 (6-for-17) with two doubles and two RBI…the Los Angeles native signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in October.  

APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY ...: C Lucas May hit his first home run yesterday at Tennessee, and is now 5-for-15 (.333) with four RBI in five games…the 23-year-old was in big league camp this spring, and hit .308 with a homer and four RBI in seven games.  

BRAZOBANBAN, BRAZOBANBAN: RHP Yhency Brazoban has tossed a scoreless inning in each of his first three outings, including a shut-out seventh last night at Tennessee…the 27-year-old, who logged 114 big league games from 2004-07, earned the save in both of his first two appearances…Brazoban was limited to just four games in Spring Training as he recovered from right shoulder surgery, and was optioned to Jacksonville on March 27.  

I MADE IT OUT OF CLAY: LHP Clayton Kershaw allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in 3.0 innings in his first start on April 4 vs. West Tennessee…the 20-year-old also struck out four…the Dodgers' first-round pick (seventh overall) in the 2006 draft made six appearances in big league camp before being reassigned to minor league camp March 30…Kershaw starts tonight at Tennessee.

  FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS: 3B Josh Bell is just 2-for-14 (.143) in his last three games, but is still hitting .323 (10-for-31) with two doubles and an RBI through his first seven games…the 21-year-old was selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft…he hit .289 with 21 doubles, 15 homers, and 62 RBI in 108 games last year with Single-A Great Lakes.  

THE ADKINS DIET: LHP James Adkins worked 4.0 scoreless innings in his first start Saturday vs. Visalia (Athletics)…the 6-foot-5 University of Tennessee alum was selected as a sandwich pick (39th overall) in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft…he appeared in one game with the Dodgers during Spring Training.  

PRACTICE WHAT YOU LEACH: LHP Brent Leach has tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in his first two appearances…opposing right-handed hitters are 0-for-7 against the 25-year-old…the Dodgers selected Leach in the sixth round of the 2005 draft.  

AIR JORDAN: RHP Jordan Pratt has struck out five in 4.0 scoreless innings through his first three outings…the Dodgers' fifth-round pick in the 2003 draft has allowed only one hit and one walk…Pratt last year appeared in 44 games with Inland Empire, striking out 94 in 83.0 innings despite a 6.72 ERA.

LAMBO NUMBER FIVE: OF Andrew Lambo is hitting .370 (10-for-27) with four doubles, a triple, and six RBI through his first seven games…the 19-year-old, who was selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round of the 2007 draft after graduating from Newbury Park High School, hit .343 with 15 doubles, five homers, and 32 RBI in 54 games with the Gulf Coast League Dodgers last year.  

NO BLEMISH FOR BLEVINS: RHP Robert Blevins has struck out nine and allowed only three hits in 6.0 scoreless innings (three appearances)…the 23-year-old worked 4.0 scoreless innings of relief for the save April 8 at West Michigan. Los Angeles selected Blevins in the 13th round of last year's draft.  

JUSTIN TIME: RHP Justin Miller has surrendered only two runs (one earned) in 10.0 innings in his first two starts…left-handed hitters are just 1-for-12 (.083) against him…Miller last year went 2-1 with a 3.57 ERA in seven games (four starts) with the GCL Dodgers after being selected in the sixth round of the draft.  

THE FILE ON KYLE: RHP Kyle Smit allowed two hits and struck out six in 5.0 innings in his first start Saturday vs. Dayton…Smit, who starts tonight at West Michigan, was selected by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2006 draft.
