TO ERIC IS HUMAN: LHP Eric Stults has a 2.27 ERA (8 ER/31/2 IP) in five starts in May, lowering his season ERA to 3.68 from 5.33…he has registered 32 strikeouts and just seven walks in that span…Stults has also allowed just one home run in that span after giving up five in his first five starts…the Dodgers' 15th-round selection from the 2002 draft is 3-5 in 10 starts overall, and pitches tonight at Tucson…the 28-year-old is limiting the opposition to a .208 average (10-for-48) with runners in scoring position.
ON PINANAGO AND NEEDLES: RHP Miguel Pinango is 2-2 with a 2.45 ERA (9 ER/33.0 IP) in five starts in May after surrendering nine runs in 3.2 innings at Albuquerque (Marlins) in his final start in April…the 25-year-old ranks fifth in the league with 56 strikeouts, and is tied for second with 65.1 innings of work…Pinango was signed by Los Angeles in January 2007.

PRACTICE WHAT YOU LEACH: LHP Brent Leach has tossed 11.2 consecutive scoreless innings in his last six appearances, including 2.0 scoreless innings yesterday at Birmingham (White Sox)…the Dodgers' sixth-round pick from the 2005 draft is 1-0 with four saves and an 0.93 ERA in 10 games overall…opponents are hitting .153 against the 25-year-old, including a .167 mark (3-for-18) against left-handed hitters.
