LIFE OF RILEY: LHP Matt Riley has a 2.79 ERA (3 ER/9.2 IP) in six games in June…the Santa Ana-born 28-year-old is 1-1 with save and a 3.23 ERA in 19 games overall ... he has 39 strikeouts in 30.2 innings, and is limiting left-handed hitters to a .229 average (8-for-35) ... Riley was signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in January.    

IT'S NOT HIS FALK: RHP Brian Falkenborg has a league-leading 13 saves, including one in each of his last three appearances beginning Friday…he has tossed 8.0 consecutive scoreless innings in his last seven games to lower his ERA to 3.82 from 5.04 ... the 30-year-old, who was signed as a minor league free agent in December 2007, has converted nine straight save opportunities and is 13-for-16 overall ... Falkenborg has 41 strikeouts and only eight walks in 33.0 innings, a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 5.1 to one.    

FIRST THINGS FIRST: 1B John Lindsey has six homers and 22 RBI in 18 games in June, while hitting .290 (20-for-69) with a .623 slugging percentage…he is tied for ninth in the league with 14 home runs and is tied for fourth with 55 RBI ... the 31-year-old also ranks 10th with a .325 batting average ... Lindsey was re-signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in October 2007.    

DON'T BE A-PAUL-ED: OF Xavier Paul is hitting .369 (24-for-65) with 11 RBI in 17 games in June, raising his average to .308 from .287 ... in 66 games overall, the left-handed hitter has 15 doubles, five homers, and 42 RBI…he is batting .316 (24-for-76) with runners in scoring position ... the 23-year-old has been successful in each of his last eight stolen-base attempts, and is 14-for-17 in steal attempts overall.    

J SQUARED: RHP Jason Johnson has a Pacific Coast League-best nine wins…he is 9-3 with a 4.14 ERA in 15 starts overall, including a 2-0 mark, 20 strikeouts, and a 3.15 ERA (7 ER/20.0 IP) in his last three starts ... the 34-year-old, who pitched for the Seibu Lions of Japan's Pacific League in 2007, is tied for eighth in the league with 82.2 innings of work ... he signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent on February 6, 2008.

IVAN-A GET ON BASE A LOT: INF Ivan DeJesus ranks fourth in the Southern League with a .420 on-base percentage, second with 47 walks, and is tied for sixth with 48 runs scored ... he is 7-for-23 (.304) with nine walks in his last eight games, raising his on-base percentage from .410 ... the 21-year-old is hitting .300 in 68 games overall…the Dodgers' second-round selection in the  2005 draft is batting .339 (20-for-59) with runners in scoring position.    

DEATH, TAXES, AND HOFFMAN: OF Jamie Hoffman is hitting .346 (46-for-133) with 25 RBI in his last 37 games beginning May 9, raising his average to .293 from .226 ... he 23-year-old has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, batting .314 (11-for-35) with three homers and 11 RBI ... the Minnesota native was signed by Los Angeles as a non-drafted free agent in September 2003.    

SUPPORTING CASTILLO: RHP Jesus Castillo went 2-0 with a 2.13 ERA (3 ER/12.2 IP) in his last two starts to earn Southern League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of June 9-15 .. the 24-year-old is 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA (12 ER/40.1 IP) in his last seven starts beginning May 14 ... he is 5-3 with a 3.30 ERA in 14 starts overall ... the Dodgers selected the Pima City College (AZ) product in the 27th round of the 2003 draft ... his next start is slated for Saturday at Birmingham (White Sox).    

CRACKING THE CODY: RHP Cody White is 2-0 with a 2.89 ERA (6 ER/18.2 IP) in his first three Double-A starts of his career ... is limiting Southern League hitters to a .191 average, including a .161 mark (9-for-56) by right-handed hitters…the 23-year-old, who was selected by the Dodgers in the 12th round of the 2003 draft, was promoted from Single-A Inland Empire on June 1 ... he went 6-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 12 games (10 starts) with the 66ers ... White's next outing is scheduled for Sunday at Birmingham.    

I'M LOVIN' IT: RHP James McDonald is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA (10 ER/35.0 IP) in his last six starts, lowering his ERA to 3.52 from 4.26 ... the Long Beach Poly High School grad is 3-2 in 15 starts overall, and has 79 strikeouts in 79.1 innings of work ... McDonald, 23, is limiting the opposition to a .235 batting average…he was selected by the Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2002 draft.

PUT ON SOME SUNSCREEN, SANTANA: C Carlos Santana ranks second in the league with 60 RBI and 25 doubles…he has 20 RBI in his last 19 games beginning May 30 ... the 22-year-old is hitting .287 in 68 games overall, and has more walks (44) than strikeouts (40) ... Santana, a switch-hitter, is batting .355 (27-for-76) with runners in scoring position ... he was signed by Los Angeles as a non-drafted free agent in August 2004.    

LOCKE AND KEY: 1B/OF Andrew Locke is just 3-for-18 (.167) in his last five games, yet is still batting .370 (34-for-92) in his last 24 games beginning May 23 to raise his average to .305 from .250 ... he had a 12-game hitting streak June 4-15, during which he batted .447 (21-for-47) with seven doubles and 14 RBI ... Locke, 25, is hitting .321 (18-for-56) with runners in scoring position…the Boston College product was selected in the 19th round of the 2005 draft.    

HE'S NO ENGLISH MUFFIN: OF Thomas Giles has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, batting .352 (19-for-54) to raise his average to .267 from .240 ... he has four homers and 18 RBI in that same span…the left-handed hitter was selected by the Dodgers in the eighth round of the 2006 draft out of Vero Beach (FL) High School.    

FELIX HIS CHOPS: RHP Felix Francisco has tossed 11.0 straight scoreless innings in his last four appearances, lowering his ERA to 2.66 from 3.55 ... he is 4-2 with two saves in 22 games overall, and has 46 strikeouts in 44.0 innings of work ... the 24-year-old is limiting the opposition to a .167 average, including a .143 mark (10-for-70) by left-handed hitters.    

JACOBO IS NO BOBO: LHP Jacobo Meque has converted six of seven save opportunities beginning May 27…he has allowed two runs and struck out 11 in 7.2 innings  during that span ... the 24-year-old, who signed with Los Angeles as a minor league free agent in December 2006, is 1-0 with seven saves and a 2.40 ERA in 14 games overall ... the Dominican Republic native has 19 strikeouts in 15.0 innings of work.

UNDER THE KANABY: OF Erik Kanaby has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, batting .365 (19-for-52) to raise his average to .294 from .271 ... he is also hitting .344 (53-for-154) in his last 37 games beginning May 3, raising his average from .172 ... the left-handed hitter has struck out just 17 times in 218 at-bats, an average of once every 12.8 at-bats…he was selected in the 10th round of the 2007 draft out of Lamar University (TX).  

LAMBO SHANK: OF Andrew Lambo is hitting .337 (32-for-95) in his last 24 games beginning May 21, raising his average to .287 from .256 ... the left-handed hitter is batting .344 (32-for-93) against left-handers and .320 (24-for-75) with runners in scoring position in 66 games overall ... the Newbury Park native was selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round of last year's draft.   

CHECK THE VECTOR, VICTOR: LHP Victor Garate is 3-1 with a 1.74 ERA (6 ER/31.0 IP) in six starts since being converted to a starter in mid-May ... the 23-year-old Venezuelan, who was signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in December 2007, is 4-1 with a 1.90 ERA in 11 games overall ... he has 56 strikeouts in 42.2 innings of work, an average of 11.8 punchouts per 9 innings.   

LEAVE IT TO STEVE: RHP Steven Johnson ranks 10th in the league with a 2.60 ERA, and is tied for the league lead with eight wins ... the Dodgers' 13th-round pick of the 2005 draft is 3-0 with a 3.24 ERA (6 ER/16.2 IP) in his last three starts ... the 20-year-old is limiting the opposition to a .218 average in 12 starts overall.
