DON'T BE A-POLLOCK: RHP Dwayne Pollock is 3-3 with a 4.78 ERA (17 ER/32.0 IP) in six starts since converting to a starter at the end of May…the 27-year-old, who was acquired from the White Sox in May 2007, is 5-3 with two saves and a 4.06 ERA in 21 games overall.   

MATT IS PHAT: LHP Matt Riley struck out 11 in 5.1 scoreless innings over his last two outings…the Santa Ana-born 28-year-old has allowed just four runs in his last 19.0 innings (10 games) beginning May 27, lowering his ERA to 2.75 from 3.71. ...Riley, who was signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in January, has logged 50 strikeouts in 36.0 innings of work overall, an average of 12.5 punchouts per 9 innings.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT: INF Ivan DeJesus today was selected to the World Team for the XM All-Star Futures Game. ...he is the lone Dodger farmhand to play in the 10th-annual game, which this year is being held at Yankee Stadium…the 21-year-old ranks fifth in the league with a .409 on-base percentage, and is batting .294 with 11 doubles, 30 RBI, and 50 walks in 74 games.   

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS: INF Mark Bellhorn is hitting .315 (17-for-54) with three homers, 12 RBI, and 15 runs scored in his last 15 games beginning June 9, raising his average to .256 from .211. ...the switch-hitter is batting .323 (10-for-31) against left-handers and just .234 (22-for-94) against right-handers.   

RHP Jesus Castillo tossed 12.0 more scoreless innings in his last two starts, and is 4-0 with a 2.06 ERA (12 ER/52.1 IP) in his last nine starts. ...the 24-year-old is 5-3 with a 2.85 ERA in 16 starts overall…the Dodgers selected the Pima City College (AZ) product in the 27th round of the 2003 draft.   

LAVISH TRAVIS: RHP Travis Schlichting has allowed just one run in his last 14.0 innings (seven games) beginning June 7. ...he had given up seven runs (six earned) in his first 9.0 innings (four games). ...the 23-year-old is 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 11 appearances overall, and is limiting the opposition to a .224 average, including a .167 mark (5-for-30) by left-handed hitters.

FAST CARLOS AND FREEDOM: C Carlos Santana had nine RBI in his last five games entering the All-Star break, and leads the league with 66 RBI overall…the California League All-Star is also tied for second with 25 doubles, while ranking seventh with a .407 on-base percentage (thanks in part to 49 walks) and 10th with a .510 slugging percentage. ...the switch-hitter was signed by Los Angeles as a non-drafted free agent in August 2004.   

AUSTIN MAN: 1B/3B Austin Gallagher is hitting .344 (21-for-61) with 11 doubles, two homers, and 15 RBI in his last 16 games beginning June 5, raising his average to .286 from .216, ...the 19-year-old left-handed hitter was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2007 draft out of Manheim Township High School (PA).   

PEDROZA NOT DOSING: SS Jaime Pedroza is 11-for-22 (.500) with six doubles in his last five games, and is batting .357 (25-for-70) in his last 18 games beginning June 3, raising his average to .283 from .253…the switch-hitter is batting .292 (56-for-192) against right-handers and only .250 (12-for-48) against left-handers ...Pedroza played his college ball at UC-Irvine, and was picked by the Dodgers in the ninth round of last year's draft.   

OF KOSS: RHP Paul Koss was selected to the California League All-Star squad…the Dodgers' 11th-round pick of the 2007 draft went 1-0 with three saves and a 3.00 ERA in 24 games in the season's unofficial first half, ...the USC product, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on June 17, has struck out 40 in 42.0 innings.   

JESUS, I LIKE HIM VERY MUCH: RHP Jesus Rodriguez is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA (5 ER/21.2 IP) in four starts since converting to a starter, and is 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in 10 games overall. ...Los Angeles signed the 22-year-old as a non-drafted free agent out of Mexico in January 2005.

GARATE KID: LHP Victor Garate suffered two losses since last Thursday's minor league report despite allowing only four earned runs and striking out 17 in 12.0 innings of work…the 23-year-old is 3-3 with 2.09 ERA (10 ER/43.0 IP) in eight starts since being converted to a starter…the Venezuela native, who was signed by Los Angeles as a free agent in December, is 4-3 with a 2.14 ERA in 13 games overall. ...he has 73 strikeouts in 54.2 innings, and is limiting the opposition to a .217 average.   

SARTOR THE MARTYR: RHP Matthew Sartor has tossed 6.0 scoreless innings in three appearances since returning from the All-Star break…the 23-year-old has struck out eight and allowed only two in that time. ...the Dodgers signed Sartor as a non-drafted free agent in July 2007.

RUSSELL'S ATHLETIC: OF Kyle Russell, the Dodgers' third-round pick in the 2008 draft, is batting .300 (10-for-30) with three doubles, two homers, and seven RBI in his first eight pro games.   

EVEN STEVEN DOES IT: 1B Steven Caseres, the Dodgers' ninth-round pick in the 2008 draft, is hitting .348 (8-for-23) with two doubles, a homer, and five RBI in his first five contests.   

PRESS HIS DUTTON: RHP Jonathan Dutton allowed a run in 5.0 innings in both of his first two starts with the Raptors, allowing seven hits while striking out eight and walking seven ...the 20-year-old was selected in the 24th round of the 2005 draft out of Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, and began the 2008 campaign with Single-A Great Lakes.
