Starter Jon Dutton gave up only three runs over five innings and left the game trailing 3-1. Jessie Mier doubled and scored on Devaris Gordon's single in the fifth inning.

Ogden tied the game to get Dutton off the hook when Elian Herrera tripled with two out and scored on Gordon's second RBI single. Joe Becker doubled him in to tie the game but Becker was out attempting to stretch the hit into a triple.

Reliever Cal Stanke (1-2) took over for Steve Smith, who had worked a pair of scoreless innings, and surrendered a double, bounced a wild pitch and allowed sac fly to untie the game and take the loss. Outfielder Kyle Russell, who made a remarkable catch in the right field corner to end the inning.

Gordon finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Becker also went 2-for-4, as did catcher Jessie Mier. Elian Herrera tripled and scored a run.
