HE'S NO ANGEL TO THE PITCHERS: INF Angel Chavez has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, batting .404 (21-for-52) with six doubles and seven RBI to raise his average to .291 from .268…after hitting .234 (25-for-107) in 26 games in May, he batted .308 (33-for-107) in 26 games in June…the 26-year-old is hitting .382 (13-for-34) in eight games thus far in July.   

BUILT FORD TOUGH: OF John-Ford Griffin has four homers and 13 RBI in his last 11 games…the left-handed hitter is batting .340 (18-for-53) in his last 16 games, raising his average to .295 from .285…the 28-year-old has 11 homers and 56 RBI in 85 games overall.   

MITCH GOES OFF WITHOUT A HITCH: OF Mitch Jones hit five home runs in his first nine games with Las Vegas, and now has six in 18 games since signing a minor league deal with Los Angeles on June 20…the 30-year-old, who played in Japan to start the year, is batting .242 with 16 RBI, including five in his last four games.   

RAZOR RAMON: INF Ramon Martinez is batting .327 (17-for-52) with two homers and eight RBI in 17 games since returning from the disabled list…he had been on the DL since April 13 with a sprained right thumb…the 16-year-pro, who signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in January, is hitting .304 with 12 RBI in 23 games overall.

THIS GUY CAN HIT: INF Adolfo Gonzalez has a pair of four-hit efforts in both of his last two starts, and is batting .543 (19-for-35) in his last 12 games to raise his average to .317 from .231…the 23-year-old was signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2002.   

DON'T HASSLE THE HOFF: OF Jamie Hoffman has a pair of two-homer games already this week, going deep twice Sunday vs. Mobile (Diamondbacks) and yesterday vs. Mississippi (Braves)…he is batting .355 (11-for-31) with seven RBI and nine runs scored in his last eight games…the 23-year-old, who was signed as a non-drafted free agent in September 2003, is batting .288 with eight homers, 45 RBI, and 18 steals in 88 games overall in his Double-A debut.   

JESUS THE SUPERSTAR: RHP Jesus Rodriguez is 1-2 in his first three Double-A starts despite a 3.00 ERA (6 ER/18.0 IP)…the 22-year-old was promoted from Single-A Inland Empire on June 23, and has posted 16 strikeouts in his 18.0 innings of work with the Suns…he tossed 7.0 innings of one-run ball Tuesday vs. Mississippi, yet took the loss…Rodriguez went 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in 10 games (four starts) with Inland Empire.   

DANNY BOY: RHP Danny Muegge has worked 8.0 consecutive scoreless innings in his last four appearances, lowering his ERA to 4.76 from 6.64…the 27-year-old came to the Dodgers as part of the Shawn Green deal in January 2005.   

ZACH ATTACK: RHP Zach Hammes has allowed only one run in his last 10.1 innings of work (nine games), lowering his ERA to 5.46 from 6.46…in fact, the Dodgers' second-round pick from the 2002 draft has a 1.31 ERA (3 ER/20.2 IP) in 16 games beginning June 1…the 24-year-old had a 7.78 ERA through his first 20 games (one start).

MAKING SWEET MUSIC: C Carlos Santana has three homers in his last five games and six homers in his last 10 games, and now ranks eighth in the league with 14 home runs overall…the switch-hitter has at least one RBI in 15 of his last 19 games (28 total), and still leads the league 85 RBI, 15 more than his nearest challenger…the switch-hitter also ranks sixth with a .318 batting average after hitting .440 (22-for-50) in his last 13 games…the California League All-Star is also leads the league with a .429 on-base percentage, ranks second with 28 doubles, and third with a .581 slugging percentage…the 22-year-old was signed by Los Angeles as a non-drafted free agent in August 2004.   

AWESOME AUSTIN: 1B/3B Austin Gallagher has hit safely in nine straight games, batting .500 (15-for-30) to raise his average to .306 from .286…the left-handed hitter has 28 RBI in 43 games, including eight in his last nine contests…he is hitting left-handed pitchers at a .419 clip (13-for-31)…Gallagher was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2007 draft.   

THE X-GILES: OF Thomas Giles is batting .520 (13-for-25) with 12 RBI in his last seven games, raising his average to .282 from .259…the Vero Beach (FL) High School grad ranks fifth in the league with 63 RBI…the 24-year-old, who was selected by the Dodgers in the eighth round of the 2006 draft, is batting .326 (30-for-92) with runners in scoring position.   

KOSS ANALYSIS: RHP Paul Koss has tossed 9.1 consecutive scoreless innings in his last six outings, lowering his ERA to 2.57 from 3.18…he has picked up four saves and allowed only four hits in that span…the California League All-Star was the Dodgers' 11th-round pick of the 2007 draft out of the University of Southern California.   

THANK YOU, CYR: LHP Eric Cyr is 1-1 with a 1.20 ERA in two starts since signing a minor league contract with the Dodgers on July 2…the 29-year-old was released by Seattle on May 2.

LAMBO CHOP: Andrew Lambo is hitting .389 (14-for-36) with two homers and seven RBI in his last 10 games, raising his average to .288 from .275…the 19-year-old leads the club with 90 hits, 23 doubles, and 54 RBI and is tied for the team lead with 10 home runs…the Newbury Park High School grad, who bats left-handed, is hitting .339 (43-for-127) against left-handers.   

PARK YOUR CAR IN THE GARATE: LHP Victor Garate has a 1.86 ERA (6 ER/29.0 IP) in his last five starts, yet is just 1-2 in that span…the 23-year-old is 4-3 with 2.00 ERA (12 ER/54.0 IP) in 10 starts since being converted to a starter…the Venezuela native, who was signed by Los Angeles as a free agent in December, is 5-3 with a 2.06 ERA in 15 games overall…he is tied for fourth in the league with 92 strikeouts, and is limiting the opposition to a .221 average in 65.2 innings of work.  

  MORRIS CODE: RHP Bryan Morris has a 1.10 ERA (2 ER/16.1 IP) in his last three starts, and is 1-3 with a 3.47 ERA in 13 starts overall…the 21-year-old was one of the Dodgers' first-round picks (26th overall) of the 2006 draft.
