Dodger Short Season Teams Lose Four Games

Ogden scored three in the ninth but lost 5-4 to Great Falls. The GCL Dodgers lost twice and had their league-lead cut to 2 1/2 games when the Nationals too 3-2 and 2-0 decisions. The Dominican Dodgers were thumped 11-0 by the Mets.

Raptor Rally Falls Short
Great Falls took a 5-1 lead into the top of the ninth inning and then had to beat off a sudden Ogden rally to hold on to a 5-4 win. Brian Ruggiano walked, Matt Wallach singled and Devaris Gordon's two-out triple knocked in both runners. Austin Yount's singled closed the gap to 5-4 but Tony Delmonico was called out to end the game.

Starter Robert Boothe had limited the Voyagers to only for hits and Kyle Russell's RBI single in the first scoree Yount for a 1-0 lead.

But with two out in the bottom of the fifth, he surrendered a wak and three straight hits and suddenly Ogden trailed 3-1.

About this time half the lights went out in the park and it took 85 minutes to make repairs and restart the game. Reliever Jon Runnels then ended the long inning with a strikeouts.

Great Lakes added two more in the seventh to seeminly put the game out of reach but the Raptors had other ideas.

The three-run rally fell a bit short, however, and Ogden fell to 13-19 on the season.

Gordon was the only Raptor have more than a single hit.

GCL Dodgers Drop Two to Nats
The Gulf Coast Dodgers, attempting to make up the rash of early rainouts, lost a doubleheader with the Nationals, losing 3-2 in the opener and 2-0 in the second game.

The two losses cuts the Dodgers lead in the South division to 2 1/2 games over the second-place Nationals.

Gary Tavarez (2-1) allowed single runs in the second, third and fourth inning of the opener and the Dodgers two-run rally in the sixth would be their only runs of the day.

Lenell McGee opened the inning with a single and Joris Bert walked. An error on an attempted force play allowed McGee to score before Bert was thrown out at the plate on Ramon Jean's ground ball. Rafael Ynoa bounced out to drive in the second and final run.

Six different Dodgers had a single hit with Pedro Guerror whacking a double.
