Ruggiano's Walk-Off Single Beats Chukars

Brian Ruggiano's RBI single in the last of the ninth gave Ogden a 10-9 come-from-behind win, helped by Tony Delmonico's two home runs. The GCL Dodgers sailed to a 7-0 win behind two hit pitching from Edwin Contreras, Roberto Ferreras and Jacob McCarter. The DSL Dodgers outhit the Blue Jays 10-4 but lost a 8-7 heartbreaker.

Brian Ruggiano's game-winning RBI single climaxed a four-run ninth inning as Ogden out-slugged Idaho Falls 10-9. The win boosts the Raptors to 15-19 as the first half comes to a close.

Ogden held a 6-1 lead going into the top of the eighth but the Chukars scored four runs in each the eighth and ninth to take a 9-6 lead into the last of the inning.

Tony Delmonico, who had homered twice and knocked in four runs, singled to lead off and Travis Vetters doubled him to third. Kyle Russell cut Great Falls lead to 9-8 with a two-run double.

Pedro Baez walked and Russell scored on Steven Caseres ground ball. Austin Yount bounced out before Ruggiano, with two out and the count 3-2, singled to center to drive Baez in with the winning run.

The Raptors has built a five-run lead and the fans were happily wait ing for the fireworks show after the game. They got it in the eighth and ninth, a bit quicker than they anticipated.

Jon Redding drew the start and allowed only a pair of hits while striking out seven in his five innings. Javier Solano gave up a single run in his two.

Delmonico, playing before the home fans for the first time, launched a solo homer in the first and a three-run shot in the third inning. Travis Vetters, just off the injured list, added a first-inning homer.

Russell singled and scored on Baez's double in the seventh for a 6-1 margin.

Idaho Falls scored four in the eighth. Josh Walters walked two and gave up a double and a single, then was replaced by Marcel Prado. An error, a single, a passed ball and a walk scored the four.

Luis Garcia had only a little more luck in the ninth. He walked the first batter, then threw a bunt away. A wild pitch scored one and a fielder's choice let in another. Another walk and another error gave Idaho Falls three unearned runs in the inning and the lead.

Garcia collected the win on the strength of the Raptors rousing finish.

Coasties Enjoy Great Pitching
Three Gulf Coast League pitchers held the Mets to two hits and a 7-0 victory. The Dodgers banged out an even dozen hits of their own, including three for extra bases.

Edwin Contreras (4-0) kept his record spotless, allowing both hits over five innings while lowering his ERA to 1.20. Roberto Ferreras worked three hitless frames and has an 0.75 earned run average to show for it. Jacob McCarter finished the shutout.

The Coasties struck early, scoring all seven runs in the first foue innings.

Gorman Erickson's RBI double put the Dodgers on the board and he moments later Lenell McGee singled in a second run. Four runs in the third put the game out of the Mets' reach.

Johan Garcia doubled and Garett Green singled to open the inning and Albie Goulder's fly made it 3-0. Jerry Sands singled before a wild pitch allowed a second run. A throwing error and McGee's second hit boosted the lead to 6-0. Green singled across the final run of the game in the fourth

DSL Dodgers Lose to Jays
The Dominican Summer League Dodgers broke out of their hitting slump, whacking out 10 safeties including Tito Franco's second homer of the season, but despite the 10-4 hit margin they still dropped am 8-7 decision to the Jays.

The Dodgers rang up the first seven runs but their pitcher's couldn't hang on to the lead and a five-run seventh gave the Jays their first lead and their winning margin.

Antonio Castillo started and worked five innings, leaving the game with a 7-2 lead. Rogelito De Aza surrendered three runs, and Ernesto Antuan and Gustavo Gonzlez (0-6) allowed the final three runs. Dodger pitching issued six walks and an error also figured into the scoring.

Alexis Aguilar singled in the first Dodger run in the second inning and Franco's home run made it 3-0. In the third, Erick Lantigua had an RBI single, Aguilar walked with the bases loaded and Yorneil Martin's lined a two-run double to increase the lead to 7-0.

Martin finished the game with four hits, including a doub.e Lantigua had a pair of singles.
