Delmonico, Caseres, Walters Boost Raptors

Daigoro Rondon earned his first win 12-3 for Ogden, powered by home runs from Steve Caseres and Matt Wallach and three hits by Tony Delmonico. The GCL Dodgers and Mets split a twin-bill, winning the first 5-3 and losing 1-0 in the second game despite Roberto Fructuoso's one hitter. The DSL Dodgers had the day off.

Tony Delmonico and Steve Caseres led the attack as Ogden broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth and roared to a 12-3 win behind air-tight relief pitching.

Eight of the nine Ogden starters banged out hits and drove in a run. Delmonico had three hits (including a pair of doubles), scored three runs and knocked in one. Steve Caseres doubled and homered, knocking in three and Matt Wallach smacked a two-run homer.

Michael Jon Redding started and allowed all three Idaho Falls runs in the fourth inning. Then -- in order -- Daigoro Rondon (1-0), Josh Walter, Javier Solano and Luis Garcia held the Chukars to three hits and no runs over the final five innings.

Caseres doubled, Joe Becker singled to score him and Wallach's two run shot (#2) made it 3-0. Idaho Falls quickly tied the game in the last of the inning.

A three-run shot by Caseres in the fifth put Ogden in front to stay. Pedro Baez knocked in a run in the seventh, Travis Vetters, Russell and Becker added RBI hits in the eighth and Gabe Casanova's double drove in the final run in the ninth.

The Raptors have won consecutive games on their six game road trip after dropping a pair at Casper. ?

?Ogden and Idaho Falls are now tied for first place in the Pioneer League South Division with 3-2 records.

The series continues today night with Geison Aguasviva getting the start for Ogden.

In the Second Game the Dodgers were held to three scattered hits, Ramon Jean singled to lead off the first inning and Pedro Guerrero was hit by a pitch. A wild pitch moved them into scoring position with none out but three straight strikeouts ended the threat.

Jean doubled with one out in the third but was left stranded and Albie Goulder singled to lead off the fourth for the final Dodgers run.

A leadoff homer in the fourth off of Roberto Fructuoso was the only Mets hit of the game but was all that they needed to win and gain a split.
