Baez Moves Onto Home Run list

Pedro Baez, Ogden's third baseman during the 2008 season, moved onto the Dodgers Short Season Home Run chart by smacking an even dozen home runs.

Baez is now tied for ninth place on the list with Mike Marshal (Lethbridge, 1978), Eric Karros (Lethbridge 1987), Steve DeWitt (Ogden 2004) and Josh Bell (Ogden 2007) as well as four other players.

Steve Garvey holds the all time mark with 20, hit in 1968 at Ogden. Lamont Matthews had 17 for Yakima in 1999; Greg Brock had 16 for Lethbridge in 1970 and Travis Vetters hit 14 last year for Ogden.

Three players, Mike Bush (Great Falls 1979) and Drew Locke and Russ Mitchell (Ogden 2006) are tied for fifth with 13.
