Dodgers Scoring 5.12 Runs Per Game

With a third of the season gone, checking the run support each Dodger starter has received and the won-lost record of the team when he starts indicates that the club is scoring 5.12 runs per game over the first third of the season. The team is scoring 6/43 runs in victories and 3.88 in losses.

The four main starters, Chad Billingsley, Randy Wolf, Clayton Kershaw and Eric Stults fall on both sides of the average figure. Stults leads the pact with 7.22 runs per game and Billingsley and Kershaw are close to the norm with 5.28 and 5.20 respectively

Wolf falls well below the mark having been supplied with only 4.36 runs per start. In an oddity, he has received more run support in losses (5.00) than he has in wins (4.00).

James McDonald leads all starter with an average of eight runs per start. He received 9.33 in his three wins. Jeff Weaver is on the other end of the stat sheet, receiving 3.33 over his three starts and only 2.50 in his two wins.

The Dodgers are 7-2 in Stults' nine starts. Billingsley is 8-3, Wolf 7-4 and Kershaw 5-5.

With the remarkable start the team has enjoyed, no starter has a losing mark.

The numbers will level off as the season progresses.
