Ogden Wins on Orr's Sacrifice Fly

Kyle Orr's sacrifice fly broke a 6-6 tie in the eighth as Ogden put on a rally that netted four runs and an 8-6 win over the Orem Owlz. The Arizona Dodgers lost a 5-0 lead as the Royals rang up a 13-7 decision. The Dominican Summer League Dodgers benefitted from four Blue Jays errors and four unearned runs in a 5-3 win.

Late Rally Gives Raptors 8-6 Win
Trailing 6-4 into the last of the eighth, Ogden put on a frantic rally that netted four runs and an 8-6 win over the Orem Owlz. Jerry Sands homered and Pedro Guerrero, Kyle Orr and Lenell Mcgee drove in the runs in the inning.

Luis Vasquez started for the Raptors and allowed three runs in his four innings. He left the game trailing 3-2. Javier Solano was tagged with an unearned run while pitching through the sixth. Jordan Roberts could manage only one out in the seventh and Steve Ames took over before giving the ball to Andrew Suiter (1-) who collected the win on the strength of the big rally before Daigoro Rondon worked a perfect ninth to save the game.

Ogden took a 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Sands and a balk. Trailing 4-2, Mario Songco's single cut the deficit to 4-3 but Casper scored single runs in the seventh and eighth to offset an RBI-double by Mcgee in the seventh.

Things looked bleak in the last of the eighth but Sands home run over the left field wall gave the Raptors hope. Songco drew a walk to put the tying run at first and he moved up on a wild pitch and then to third on a perfect bunt by Chris Jacobs.

A sharp single to center by Guerrero tied the game 6-6 and a throwing error on the play moved him to second and Jacobs to third. Orr's long fly to left drove in the lead run and Macgee's single to center made it 6-4.

Rondon retired the Owlz 1-2-3 in the ninth, finishing with a flourish by striking out the final batter.

While Ogden was out-hit, they were 5-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Mcgee, Sands and Guerrero had six of the Raptors eight hits.

Royals Score Late to Trip AZ Dodgers
The Arizona Dodgers rolled through six innings with a 5-0 lead, only to see the Royals put seven runs on the board in the seventh inning, and then add six more in the last two frames to collect a 13-7 decision.

Carl Webster allowed only two hits while striking out six over his five shutout innings and Andres Santiago added another zero before the Royals ran off seven in the seventh. Marlon Urriola (0-1) took the loss after allowing five runs, three unearned in the eighth and ninth. Amauri Guzman finished up on the mound.

The Dodgers scored twice in the fourth after two were out when Travis Vetters doubled and scored on Johan Garcia's single. Ryan Arp's RBI-singles plated the second run.

Three more Dodgers runs crossed the plate in the fifth on a run-scoring ground ball by Michael Pericht, Vetter's second RBI single and wild pitch.

After the Royals had taken a 7-5 lead, the Dodgers battled back again in the bottom of the inning. Vetters singled after Pericht had walked and Johan Garcia's ground ball scored their sixth run. Arp's sac fly tied the game.

Five of the final Dodgers hitters in the eighth and ninth went down on strikes.

Vetters led the attack with three hits and Johan Garcia had a pair.

Unearned Runs Help DSL Dodgers
The Dominican Summer League Blue Jays made four crucial errors that resulted in four unearned runs and the Dodgers accepted the gift with a smile and a 5-3 win.

Starter Luis Rosano left the game after five innings trailing 5-0. Daniel Tamares (1-2) took over and didn't allow a hit over the final four innings, striking out six and allowing only a single base runner.

Down three runs, the Dodgers rang up four in the sixth inning, helped by a pair of passed balls, an error and three hit batsman. Marlon Sucre was hit by a pitch and Enily Morales followed with a single for the only hit of the inning.

A two-base error and Morales single in the second ended the scoring.

Dodger pitching held the Jays to only four hits and Morales collected three of the eight DSL hits to boost his average to .398.
