Ogden, AZL Dodgers Lose on Sunday

Casper evened the four game series one each by stopping Ogden 5-2. The Raptors were held to only five hits in the loss. The Indians scored a single run in the ninth to break a 4-4 tie and edge the Dodgers 5-4 in the Arizona League contest.

Antonio Castillo (0-2) was roughed up for eighth hits and three runs in his four innings and took the loss although he struck out five. Eric Thompson gave up two more in the fifth and sixth.

Graham Miller (#22 selection in 2009) got his first taste of professional baseball and although he struggled, allowing two hits, two walks and tossing a wild pitch, he picked a runner off base and competed his two innings without allowing a run.

The Raptors, who were 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position, scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Gorman Erickson banged his first triple of the season in the fifth to score Kyle orr, who had walked. In the sixth, Mario Songco doubled in Brian Cavazos-Galvez (#13) who had walked.

Ogden slipped to 2-4 in the early days of the season.

Indians Edge AZL Dodgers
The Indians scored a single run in the ninth to break a 4-4 tie and edge the Dodgers in an Arizona League contest. The two teams put nine one-run innings on the board during the game.

Trailing 3-1, scored in the fifth and sixth to tie the game, then after the Indians added yet another single run in the sixth, the Dodgers matched them in the bottom of the inning.

Carlos Frias started for the Dodgers and although he gave up seven hits and three runs, only one of the runs was earned ad he struck out seven, Thomas Melgarejo finished out the fourth inning for him and added a scoreless fifth before Beyker Fructuoso (0-2) allowed the final two runs, with errors costing him an unearned run in the sixth.

Austin King (#20) collected two of the Dodgers four hits and a run batted in. Johan Garcia (#8) had the only other RBI the Dodgers could manage as a wild pitches allowed runs in the first and fifth.

The Dodgers were 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left 10 on base.
