Tough Day for Young Dodgers

It was just one of those days that all of us run into now and again. Ogden lost 8-7 in a meaningless game against Idaho Falls. The Arizona Dodgers lost a 1-0 lead n the sixth and The Arizona Dodgers took a slim, 1-0 lead but the Brewers handed them a 9-5 loss. Mets choked off the Dominican Dodgers and finished with a 10-0 win.

Sands Homers but Ogden Loses
Jerry Sands smacked his 13th home run in the penultimate game of the first half of the Pioneer League season but Idaho Falls rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to take n 8-7 decision.

The Chukars win came a day late, the Raptors already had sewed up the first half title and a spot in the playoffs the day before. The teams split the first two games of a three-game series, and will wrap up the series and the first half with a rubber match this afternoon.

Wildness cost Ogden dearly during the game. They lost leads of 5-3 in the sixth and 7-5 in the seventh. Ogden pitchers issued eight walks, and allowed Idaho Falls post a comeback victory.

Jerry Sands homered deep to left field in the fourth inning (#13) to cut an early 3-1 deficit to one. Sands had an RBI double and J.T. Wise chipped in with a run-scoring single to take a 5-3 lead.

Starter Elisaul Pimentel allowed four hits and four walks, leaving the game trailing 3-2. Javier Solano gave up two runs in the sixth to tie things up 5-3. Ogden regained the lead again in the top of the seventh, but the left the bases loaded.

The final Raptors surge in the seventh started with Sands drawing a walk and Jeremy Wide and Kyle Orr whacking singles. Brian Ruggiano's single knocked in the second run of the season and Ogden led 7-5.

Graham Miller and Joe Paxton (1-2) combined to allow Idaho Falls final three runs with Paxon's wild pitch allowing the tie-breaker.

Blake Smith had three hits in Ogden's 13-hit attack. Sands and Wise had a pair each.

Brewers Top AZ Dodgers
The Arizona Dodgers took a slim, 1-0 lead into the sixth inning behind Dan Danielson but he ran out of fuel in the sixth and gave up three runs, the final two on a home run. The Brewers ended up with a 9-5 win.

Bolivar Medina was tagged for six more runs, only two of them earned, and Kevin Childs struck out the final Brewer in the ninth to stop the bleeding.

Nick Akins had a double and a pair of singles, knocking in three. Stetson Banks added a pair of hits for the Dodgers.

Mets Blank Dominican Dodgers
Mets pitching held the Dominican Dodgers to six hits and six Dodgers hurlers were banged around. When the dust cleared, the Dodgers had dropped a 10-0 decision.

The Mets added five runs in the sixth inning to put the game away early.

Luis Rosano started and lasted just one inning, allowing three runs and taking his fourth loss in seven decisions.

Jose Lugo had two singles and Charlie Mirabel and Bladimir Franco added doubles to lead the Dodgers.
