The Albuquerque clinched a playoff berth by winning the PCL American Southern Division ... the Isotopes will take on the winner of the American Northern Division in a best-of-five series, which begins Wednesday at Isotopes Park.
Manager Tim Wallach was selected as Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year by a vote of fellow managers, league General Managers, and the media ... in his first season at the helm, Wallach led the Isotopes to a 76-63 record, second best in the league ... Wallach was also named "Best Manager Prospect" by Baseball America in a recent issue ... a veteran of 17 Major League seasons as a player, he was a five-time National League All-Star, a three-time Gold Glove Winner, and he twice won the Silver Slugger Award.
OF Mitch Jones was selected as an outfielder on the All-Pacific Coast League team, leading the league with 34 homers and ranking second with 98 RBI in 104 games ... the 31-year-old has hit safely in his last five games, going 7-for-20 (.350) with four doubles, three homers, and nine RBI ... he is batting .347 (42-for-121) with runners in scoring position overall ... the Utah native was signed as a minor league free agent on November 29, 2008.
Scott Strickland was named to the All-Pacific Coast League team after posting a league-leading 32 saves ... the 33-year-old set a record for most saves in a season by an Albuquerque pitcher, surpassing the Dukes' Dennis Lewallyn's 24 saves in 1980 ... overall, he is 1-1 with 32 saves and a 3.04 ERA (16 ER/47.1 IP) in 49 games.
INF Chin-lung Hu batted .384 (38-for-99) with four doubles, five triples, three homers, and 11 RBI in 27 August games ... overall, the Taiwan native is batting .292 with six homers and 52 RBI in 126 games ... the 25-year-old was signed as a non-drafted free agent on January 31, 2003.
RHP Josh Lindblom is 2-0 with one save and a 1.71 ERA (5 ER/26.1 IP) in 16 relief appearances ... in three starts, the 22-year-old is 1-0 with a 4.63 ERA (6 ER/11.2 IP) ... he entered the season ranked as the Dodgers' No. 4 prospect and as having the Best Fastball in the Dodgers' system according to Baseball America ... the Indiana native was selected in the second round of the 2008 draft and appeared in five Cactus League games for the Dodgers, allowing just two runs in 13.0 innings (1.38 ERA).

OF James Tomlin ranks fifth in the league with a .308 batting average and third with a .398 on-base percentage ... the Saint Bernard High School (Playa del Rey) grad was signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent on February 9, 2007.
LHP James Adkins was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 24-30, when he went 1-0 with 11.0 scoreless innings in two starts ... he allowed eight hits and struck out nine ... the 23-year-old, who is in his first full year of Double-A ball, is 6-9 with a 4.41 ERA in 26 games (25 starts) overall ... he was selected by the Dodgers in the sandwich round (39th overall) of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft.
RHP Chris Withrow is 2-2 with a 3.95 ERA in six starts since joining Double-A Chattanooga on July 31 ... he worked 5.0 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts on Tuesday at Jacksonville (Marlins) ... the 20-year-old has made the jump to Double-A in just his third pro season ... he was selected by the Dodgers in the first round (20th overall) of the 2007 draft ... Withrow went 6-6 with a 4.69 ERA in 19 games (16 starts) with Inland Empire before making the leap to Chattanooga.
RHP Harvey Garcia has tossed 11.2 consecutive scoreless innings in 10 appearances since being acquired from Pittsburgh on August 1 ... he is also 5-for-5 in save opportunities with 13 strikeouts in that time ... Garcia is 25 years old and hails from Venezuela.

OF Scott Van Slyke has become the third player in San Bernardino professional baseball history to reach the 40-double mark, setting a team record with 42 doubles, which also tied for third in the California League ... the Missouri native has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 16-for-40 (.400) with five doubles, two homers, and nine RBI in that span ... the 23-year-old is batting .308 (48-for-156) with runners in scoring position ... he was selected in the 14th round of the 2005 draft.
RHP Jake McCarter did not allow a run in 9.1 innings over eight appearances in the month of August ... overall, the Texan is 3-3 with 50 strikeouts in 44.2 innings and a 3.43 ERA over 33 appearances ... he was signed as a non-drafted free agent on June 20, 2008 and turned 25 on Monday.

The Loons on Saturday clinched a berth in the Midwest League playoffs after a 6-0 win vs. South Bend (Diamondbacks) ... Great Lakes will take on West Michigan (Tigers) in the first round, with the first game on Wednesday at Dow Diamond and September 10 and 11 (if necessary) in Comstock Park, MI.
SS Dee Gordon, the Dodgers' No. 7 prospect according to Baseball America, last week was named Co-MVP of the Midwest League along with teammate Kyle Russell ... Gordon, 21, also was named the league's Prospect of the Year and as the shortstop on the ML's Post-Season All-Star team ... the 21-year-old leads the league with 72 stolen bases, 21 more than his closest competitor ... he also ranks second the circuit with 159 hits and 93 runs scored ... the left-handed hitter, who was a mid-season Midwest League All-Star, ranks sixth in the league with a .303 average ... he was selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2008 draft.
OF Kyle Russell last week was named Co-MVP of the Midwest League along with teammate Dee Gordon ... Russell also was named as an outfielder on the ML's Post-Season All-Star squad ... the 23-year-old, who was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2008 draft, leads the league with 26 homers, 98 RBI, and a .549 slugging percentage ... he also is tied for second in the league with 38 doubles and ranks fourth with 87 runs scored.
3B Anthony Hatch earned Midwest League Player of the Week honors for the week of August 24-30, when he batted .519 (14-for-27) with three doubles, a homer, eight RBI, and nine runs scored in seven games ... the 26-year-old, who is in his first full year of Double-A ball, is batting .293 with 36 doubles, 11 homers, and 72 RBI in 125 games overall ... the left-handed hitter batted .352 (38-for-108) with 24 RBI in 30 games in August ... he was selected by the Dodgers from Toronto in the minor league phase of the 2008 Rule 5 draft.
LHP Aaron Miller earned Midwest League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of August 24-30, when he went 2-0 with 11.1 scoreless innings in two starts ... he allowed just one hit while striking out 10 in that time ... the 21-year-old Miller, who was the Dodgers' first pick (36th overall) in the 2009 draft, is 3-1 with a 2.08 ERA in seven starts overall with Great Lakes after beginning his pro career with the Rookie-level Arizona Summer League Dodgers.
LHP Cole St. Clair has worked 12.0 consecutive scoreless innings in his last 11 appearances, going 9-for-9 in save opportunities and lowering his ERA to 2.62 from 4.03 in that time ... the 23-year-old, who is in his second year of pro ball after being selected by the Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2008 draft, is 15-for-16 in save opportunities overall ... he has struck out 43 in his 34.1 innings of work.

The Raptors clinched a playoff berth by winning the South Division's first half. Ogden will open the postseason on the road on September 12.
3B Brian Ruggiano leads the Pioneer League with a .382 average and is riding a 19-game hitting streak, batting .481 (39-for-81) with nine doubles, three homers, and 15 RBI in that stretch ... overall, the 23-year-old has 14 doubles, seven homers, and 33 RBI in 49 games ... the Texas native was selected in the 23rd round of the 2008 draft.
RHP Carl Webster is 2-0 with 18 strikeouts and a 0.96 ERA (2 ER/18.2 IP) in three starts since being promoted from the Rookie-level Arizona League Dodgers on August 19 ... he was selected by the Dodgers in the 18th round of the 2008 draft and went 1-1 with a 3.44 ERA in 12 games for the Gulf Coast League Dodgers in 2008.
C Jeremy Wise is batting .441 (15-for-34) with two homers and five RBI in his last 10 games ... the 23-year-old is 11-for-36 (.306) with runners in scoring position ... overall, he is hitting .320 with six homers and 20 RBI in 33 games ... he was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 draft out of the University of Oklahoma.
