Carroll and Blake Lead Spring Hitters

Someone once said, "There are lies, damn lies and statistics." That not withstanding, we will bring you the spring training stats, which are probably less informative than your arthritis is in telling the weather.

New guys on the block, Jamie Carroll (.382) and Ramon Ortiz (0.96) lead the batting and pitching lists, while Manny Ramirez (.244) and Rafael Furcal (.222), as well as Chad Billingsley (4.57) and Vicente Padilla (5.71) languish near the bottom of the respective lists.

Since the "regulars" only operate for five or so innings, it gives the staff a chance to take a quick look at a number of the young players.

Brian Cavazos-Galvez had only one at bat and it resulted in perhaps the longest home run hit by a Dodger in Camelback Ranch this spring. Angelo Songco made the best of four at bats, smacking a double and a homer. And newly-returned Jamie Hoffmann had three hits in five trips over a pair of games to remind the club of his talent that was spirited away by the Yankees in the Rule V draft, then returned.

Warning: These numbers should not be used when drafting your fantasy team. They are for entertainment purposed only.
Enjoy! And let the real games begin.
