Dodgers Week Recap

The Dodgers experienced an eventful week heading into the looming weekend series against the Atlanta Braves. LADugout.com highlights what you may have missed.

Blake's Back Puts Hitting Streak on Hold:

Casey Blake was scratched from Thursday's game at the last minute due to back spasms. The 36 year old third baseman should not miss an excessive amount of time. Joe Torre wants to give the veteran as much rest as possible, as at age 36, back spasms could develop into a long term injury

Four Shut Out Innings Leads to Demotion:

Two days following his impressive four innings in the 14 inning epic, Travis Schlichting was demoted in order to make room for Charlie Haeger. Haeger returns following a stint on the DL due to Plantar fasciitis. The knuckleballer is currently sporting an 0-4 record and an ERA above eight.

Vin Scully Announces Upcoming Road Trip:

The voice of the Dodgers is heading with the team to Boston to call the game at Fenway Park. In his 61st season with the Dodgers, Scully returns to Boston for the first time since 2004.

Dodgers Bask in Walk-Off O'Rama:

The Arizona Diamondbacks fell victim to three consecutive one-run walk off losses at the hands of the Dodgers. Two of the three contests spilled into extra innings. Ironically, none of the game winning hits were facilitated by Andre Ethier. The normal Dodgers crunch time specialist were 1-14 in the three games.
