Loons Clinch Playoff Spot

The Great Lakes Loons clinched a playoff berth behind the stellar play of Brian Cavazos-Galvez. Tyson Qualls breaks down the game and highlights more action around the Farm.

Great Lakes Defeats South Bend:

Brian Cavazos-Galvez contributed a double, two RBIs, and a run scored in a three run seventh against South Bend. The offensive outburst propelled the Loons to victory and a berth in the upcoming Midwest League playoffs.

Pitcher Eric Smith pitched into the 7th inning, allowing two earned runs and striking out three. His timely performance lowered his overall ERA to 2.74 on the season.

Cody White Throws Beach Balls:

Albuquerque pitcher Cody White experienced one of the toughest outings of his career. White surrendered 10 earned runs, 12 hits, and walked three over the course of four innings in tonight's game.

Mopping up for White, Kiko Calero threw a scoreless inning, continuing his bid to be called up to the big leagues. Calero has not given up a run since joining the Dodgers Triple A squad. He has struck out three batters in four innings while opponents are batting .188 against him.

Nate Eovaldi Headed to All-Star Game:

Dodgers' prospect Nate Eovaldi will be representing the 66ers in the upcoming California-Carolina All-Star Game. The game will take place June 22nd in Myrtle Bearch, South Carolina. The 20 year old pitcher threw a complete game shut out against the Lancaster JetHawks.
