Giants Winter Ball Roundup: 10/24/2011

AFL gets Sunday off. Belt continues his success in the DWL. Peguero and Graham slumping. Sanchez and Adrianza out of the lineup for the Tiburones. That and more as GiantsPipeline reports on Sunday's winter leagues action from across the Americas.

Games played Sunday, October 23.

The AFL had the day off on Sunday, nothing to report.

Brandon Belt had a nice weekend for the Leones del Escogido, going 2-for-7 with a double, two runs scored, three walks and a strikeout. The big lefty hit third in the order both days, playing first base on Saturday and right field on Sunday. Brandon is hitting .286 (8-for-28) overall.

Francisco Peguero played center field both days over the weekend for the Leones del Escogido, batting sixth on Saturday and leading off on Sunday. Peguero went a combined 0-for-8 with three strikouts, lowering his average to .212 (7-for-33).

Tyler Graham went 0-for-4 on Sunday while leading off and playing center field for the Tomateros de Culiacan. The outfielder, who has just one hit in his last four games, saw his average fall to .213 (10-for-47) on the season.

Hector Sanchez was out of the lineup for the second consecutive day Sunday, further fueling speculation that he is battling an injury of some sort. Still no definitive word, however.

Ehire Adrianza also had the day off on Sunday, after three consecutive starts.
