ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE - Scottsdale 2, Salt River 0

Brandon Crawford was on the bench again Wednesday for the second day in a row.

The lone Giant to see the field for the Scorps on Wednesday was Joe Panik, who went 2-for-4 with a strikeout. His average inched back up to .297 (22-for-74). Webb starts to make headway in AFL

Another day, another 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI for Brandon Belt. The consistency from the big left-hander -- who hit third and played right field for the Leones del Escogido -- has Belt's average at an even .300 (21-for-70).

Osiris Matos inherited three base runners with nobody out in the top of the sixth inning for the Toros del Este on Wednesday. The 27-year-old reliever impressively pitched out of the jam without allowing a run, retiring two batters by strikeout and inducing a weak infield fly ball. It was the eighth appearance for Matos, whose ERA dropped to an even 3.00.

Despite not having a good game offensively, Tyler Graham still found ways to contribute for the Tomateros de Culiacan on Wednesday. Graham went 0-for-3 with a walk, a strikeout and a GIDP. The 27-year-old did steal his sixth bag of the winter though, and also gunned down two base runners for outfield assists -- one at the plate, one doubling a guy off of first.

Justin Christian had a great game for Caneros de Los Mochis, going 2-for-5 with two walks and two runs. One of Christian's hits came leading off the top of the 14th, with the 31-year-old eventually coming around to score the go-ahead run. Los Mochis went on to win the game 9-6.

Hector Sanchez has now hit safely in eight straight games after going 1-for-4 on Wednesday for the Tiburones de La Guaira. During the streak, which started the day he returned to the lineup after missing the better part of two weeks, Hector is hitting .433 (13-for-30) with two doubles.

Ehire Adrianza hit eighth and manned shortstop for the Tiburones on Wednesday. It wasn't the best game for Ehire, who was lifted for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning after he went 0-for-1 with a walk and a sacrifice. More alarming, however, were the two throwing errors the young infielder made. Known for his superb defense, Adrianza has now made five errors in just 10 appearances this winter.

Jose Flores swatted three base hits in four at-bats for the Aguilas de Zulia Wednesday. Flores also had a run, a walk and two RBI while hitting ninth and manning third base. It was the 24-year-old's seventh appearance in Venezuela, and he his hitting an even .400 (8-for-20).

No games in the ABL on Wednesday, nothing to report.

Johnny Monell, the lone Giants minor leaguer in Puerto Rico this winter, saw no action for the Criollos de Caguas on Wednesday.
