TEAM NOTES
Jeffrey Hammonds, who suffered a high level ankle sprain, has been activated. Before signing with the Giants, Hammonds was with the Milwaukee Brewers, with whom he hit .257 with nine home runs and 41 RBI. With his return, right-handed pitcher Elliot Brown was optioned back to Norwich. Third baseman Lance Niekro ended his hitting streak at ten - his season high.
