Illinois prep C Evan Skoug is a TCU commit and a name I was aware of, but hadn't heard much about and hadn't seen this summer. Skoug made a big impression to say the least in Jupiter, winning the MVP award on the 3rd place Reds Midwest Scout Team, posting a 7-for-11 line with a double, homer, 8 walks, an HBP and just one strikeout (.800 OBP). Skoug is obviously strong and loads his hands deep but takes a simple, level cut, trying to hit a line drives up the middle. The separator is Skoug's comfort receiving behind the plate with an above average arm, which will easily allow him to stick behind the plate professionally and earn a 2nd-3rd round grade.

Among the other bats making a move up the board at Jupiter was uncommitted Canadian LF Gareth Morgan. I saw Morgan's first game of the weekend and it looked like more of the same for the power hitter, but he caught fire later in the weekend with a huge homer and double in a 5-for-14 tournament. New York prep C Drew Lugbauer (Michigan commit) may be too big to catch at 6'4, but showed some game power from the left side with a big homer in a solid weekend. Florida prep SS Milton Ramos (FAU commit) has improved in the old-fashioned way, getting bigger and strong and keeping his plus speed and defensive actions. He's one of the few shortstops in the class with everyday shortstop upside though not every scout is ready to buy in, he's undoubtedly improved. Another Florida prep standout, C J.J. Schwarz (Florida commit) has also taken a bit of a step forward physically. He's showing a notch more power and a little more arm strength than I saw earlier in the summer.

I discovered two new players and gained more of an appreciation for a third at the Diamond Club showcase the week before the tournament and saw them continue this performance in Jupiter. Jacksonville-area prep LF Austin Murphy (uncommitted) stood out at Diamond Club and had a nice 5-for-12 week in Jupiter with a couple double. He's a physical lefty bat at 6'2/210 that projects for average power and is a good athlete with above average speed but a below average arm that will ultimately limit him to left field but is good for a 2nd-3rd round grade. I had already seen CF Anfernee Seymour, an uncommitted 80 runner from American Heritage Delray but didn't know about his teammate, another similarly-sized (5'10/170) uncommitted CF named Todd Isaacs that is also an 80 runner and has a little more power. Seymour has made some progress this summer with the stick and Isaacs has some feel to hit as well.

I mentioned the arms in the earlier four wrap-ups, including the top riser of the whole event for me, RHP Blake Bivens (Liberty commit). I didn't rank players past 100, but Bivens would've been somewhere around 200 before Jupiter and afterwards will be somewhere around 50 on the new list later this week. You can click on their named to find the full reports from earlier in the week, but five other arms that have moved into top 100 consideration are righties Gabriel Gonzalez, Brendan Spagnuolo (Vanderbilt commit), Weston Davis (Florida commit), Erik Manoah (FIU commit) and lefty Tucker Baca (Arizona State commit)

Of the arms already in the top 100 that took a step forward this fall, the list includes four righties: Scott Blewett (#70 prospect, St. John's commit), Keith Weisenberg (#48 prospect, Stanford commit), Alex Faedo (#81 prospect, Florida commit), Jake Godfrey (#73 prospect, Notre Dame commit)
