The Return of Full San Francisco Giants Farm Coverage

There is plenty to talk about when it comes to the San Francisco Giants and their entire farm system and we're going to talk about it together.

Regular visitors to this site may have noticed a few new posts popping up around the trade deadline, a new title for the site, and a new admin on the forums. All of that led to today and the relaunch of the San Francisco Giants being represented, properly, on Scout. Now that the World Series has come and gone and we're all starved for baseball, Giants Farm is going to become your daily stop for all things Giants and we're beginning with the Arizona Fall League.

The Arizona Fall League, as described on their own Twitter profile, is the "post grad" program for the finest prospects in baseball. The San Francisco Giants have seven prospects representing the team on the Scottsdale Scorpions. This year, Giants Farm is going to follow the paths of these seven players as they work their way through the system in hopes of getting the big call. Of course we will bring you news from all the players in the minor and major league system, analyze trades, and speculate on the future of the teams but, from time to time, we're going to be checking in on these seven players and tracking their successes and setbacks.

The Giants prospects we will be following over the course of the next year are:

Ray Black

LHP Phil McCormick
LHP Adalberto Mejia
RHP Dan Slania
INF Christian Arroyo
INF Austin Slater
OF Mac Williamson

Christian Arroyo will be representing the Giants and the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Fall Star Game on Saturday, November 7 and is currently hitting .439 with 3 HR, 9 RBI, and a 1.210 OPS in his 10 games thus far this season. The Scottsdale Scorpions, who are also made up of members of the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, and Minnesotta Twins, are currently the best offensive team in the Arizona league and have a team batting average of .309 with 97 runs scored in 15 games.

Giants Farm is spending the week in Arizona and will be posting updates via Twitter and Facebook so make sure you follow both of those pages to stay up to date. Beginning tomorrow we will begin featuring game recaps and player news as the AFL continues and the major league free agent market opens up. We hope that you'll make Giants Farm a daily stop for your baseball news, participate in our forums, and consider a premium membership where you'll have access to upcoming player interviews, ad free viewing of this site, and discounts on tickets to your favorite team's games.

Welcome to Giants Farm!
