Brian Daillmore went 3 for 4, driving in 3 runs and hitting a leadoff home run in the first inning. In the past ten games, since coming off the disabled list, Daillmore has been hitting .441. Francisco Santos also hit a two-run jack in the eighth. Kevin Vent was called up from Double-A Norwich on Sunday and made his first appearance in Monday's game. He managed to strikeout the first batter he faced, but walked in a run and gave up a three-un double.
Guillermo Rodriguez is the Bulova player of the month for July. Rodriguez took over the catcher's spot when Trey Lunsford went on the disabled list. He is hitting .324 (22-for-68) with two homers and 14 RBIs in July. Steve Connelly was released by the Giants. In Monday's game, he gave up seven earned runs in two innings, marking a 7.43 ERA. Kevin Vent was called up from Double-A Norwich to replace Connelly. With the Norwich Navigators, the right-hander was 6-5 with a 3.50 ERA. Vent has a great curveball and a fastball that can reach up to 89-90 mph.

Chris Curry led off in the ninth inning and hit his second homer in two days. He extends his hitting streak to eight games and has six hits in his last eight at bats. Pat Hallmark hit a single in the sixth that snapped his 0-15 slump.
Right-handed reliever, Kevin Vent, was promoted to Triple-A Fresno. Luke Anderson has been promoted from Salem-Keizer to Norwich.

Daniel Ortmeier went 3-for-4 with 2RBI and 2 stolen bags totaling 11 in the season. Bryan Carter also had a good day, going 2-for-5 with 3 RBI. David Aardsma continues to do well, retiring Modesto in order, striking out two of the three batters he faced achieving his fifth save of the season. The San Jose Giants have their sixth consecutive victory.

The Hagerstown Suns got their fourth staright win after losing nine in a row. Fred Lewis scored the winning run on Kevin Kelly's two-out single. Starting pitcher, Merkin Valdez, had an outstanding start. He went seven innings, striking out 13.

With this win over the Yakima Bears, the Volcanoes now have possession of first place in the Northwest League's West Division. Catcher, Todd Jennings drew his first walk of the season Monday after 124 at bats.
Brad Vericker is "Batter of the Week" in the Northwest League for July 21-27. In five games, he has batted .450 with three homers and seven RBIs. He leads the league with 11 homers. Unfortunately, he sat out on Monday again as the infection in his right ankle is still bothering him.
