The San Francisco Giants announced Thursday that they are sending left-handed starting pitcher Damian Moss, along with injured rookie right-hander Kurt Ainsworth, to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for 14 game-winner Sidney Ponson.

Moss, in his first year with San Francisco, went 9-7 with an ERA of 4.70 in 21 appearances, 20 of them starts. Ainsworth, on the disabled list since late May, had a record of 5-4 in eleven starts for the Giants, allowing 66 hits over 66 innings with a 3.82 ERA.

Ponson had an ERA of 3.77 over his first 21 starts of 2003. The 26-year-old right-hander won fourteen games against just 6 losses, improving his career win-loss record to 55-59.
