Last season the Giants went over their bonus pool in signing Lucius Fox, meaning that this year they aren't allowed to spend more than $300,000 on any pool-eligible player this year. Because of this, the Giants had a relatively quite day in comparison to the Atlanta Braves who signed twelve players, including many of the top talents, and even the cross-bay rivals in Oakland, who signed the highly touted Lazaro Armenteros from Cuba along with some other top-50 talent.
The Giants added a pair of shortstops in Gordi Santos (Dominican Republic) and Andrew Caraballo (Venezuela) along with outfielder Ismael Alcantara (DR) and right-hander Rafael Martinez (VEN) according to Baseball America, and according to Giants Prospect Talk (on Twitter at GiantsProspects), there were another eleven players signed. Here is the entire list:
3B Samuel Jorge, SS Enoc Watts, SS Gordi Santos, OF Ismael Alcantara, RHP Rafael Martinez, C Keiberth Mejias, SS Andrew Caraballo, OF Luilly Pichardo, OF Alexander Canario, OF, Raiber Guiterrez, C Omar Medina, IF Anyesber Siviria, LHP Elian Suarez and RHP Yovanny Moronta.
