Final Game Against Mets Cancelled

The final game of a three-game series between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets, originally scheduled to begin at 7:10 PM ET at Shea Stadium in Queens, New York, has been postponed due to massive power outages on the East Coast.

The blackouts began sweeping the coast at around 4 PM ET Thursday afternoon, and although many of the Northeastern states were affected by the outages, no other major league games suffered cancellation.

No makeup date for the game has been announced, and the Giants will fly as scheduled to Montreal to begin a four-game series with the Expos at Olympic Stadium on Friday night.
