San Francisco Giants to Open Restaurant at SFO

The San Francisco Giants, in partnership with Tastes on the Fly, will be opening up a restaurant at San Francisco International Airport in 2017

Terminal 3 at SFO will have a new resident at the end of 2017, as the San Francisco Giants will be opening a new venue to watch sports on a wrap-around digital wall that will showcase sporting events, news, movies and interactive entertainment. There will also be three replica World Series trophies on site as well as a "rotation exhibit of Giants memorabilia." This will be the Giants first attempt at a restaurant experience outside of AT&T Park. 

In addition to Tastes on the Fly, the menu will be crafted by the original Head Chef at Google, Charlie Ayers, who is currently the personal chef of the Grateful Dead. According to the press release, the food will contain twists on ballpark classics while maintaining Tastes on the Fly's commitment to sustainability and healthy eating. 

Some of the other airport venues that Tastes has opened at SFO include Caffe Del Mondo (in conjunction with Il Fornaio of America, also the first of their locations), Perry's and Lark Creek Grill. Airport Revenue News (ARN) named Tastes on the Fly the "Best Food and Beverage Operator" of 2016.

Giants President and CEO Larry Baer said in the release, "Tastes on the Fly is a visionary leader in the industry, and we are excited to work with them to bring the Giants experience to travelers at SFO." BCV Architects will handle the design element. You can see some of their work here

The site is set to go under construction in the spring, with a target opening date at the end of 2017.
