Job Openings at Giants Farm!

We're looking to add some staff this winter as we prepare for the 2017 season!

Hello Giants fans!

As you may have seen on our Twitter feed earlier this week, we're looking for some staff for the site. We are looking for writers to create consistent content to fill our digital pages and satiate our readers on a daily basis. That's where you come in!

Vision for Giants Farm:

What we would love to see is comprehensive coverage of the Giants farm teams, along with rankings of their top prospects. This could either be daily game recaps from Sacramento on down the chain, or by fairly regular updates. How much staff we add will dictate this. In addition to this, we also want to have a new voice (our voice) in terms of coverage of the big league team.

To accomplish this, we would like to send out a team of writers to cover as many games as we can. While positions are unpaid for the time being, we do have press access in San Francisco, and more than likely can get access in Sacramento, Richmond and San Jose. Press access is a great way to make connections in a business that is fueled by connections. That's way better than money!

Of course this opportunity is easier if you live in one of these areas, but you're certainly encouraged to apply even if you're outside of these markets--all you need is a love for the Giants and a unique take on things.

With a team of writers covering everything in the Giants pipeline each and every day, we would be providing something for our readers that they can't find anywhere else.

What If I'm Not a Writer?

Don't despair! We could certainly use someone looking to build a portfolio as well. I would love to see one of a kind graphics on the site, as well as GIFs, memes and the like. If you're into any of these, you should definitely reach out! We could also use someone to take video of top pitchers on the mound and a smattering of offensive players at the dish. I would love to get those edited and included in our farm evaluations.

I'm Interested, Now What?

Glad to hear it! Please send a sample of your work to GiantsonScout@gmail.com and I'll be in touch with you as soon as possible. I work a full-time job, so it may be a few hours before you hear back, but I'll always provide a timely response. For writing samples, please have them be between 300-500 words on something baseball-y. It doesn't have to necessarily be about the Giants.

Also be sure to include your name, age (must be 18), other qualifications/relevant experience and Twitter handle. Finally, tell me why you want to come aboard! Getting this site to the masses isn't going to be easy, but with a full staff of dedicated individuals, I really believe that we can be a unique voice on the internet for Giants fans.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly on Twitter @ByJasonB. I look forward to hearing from you guys! 2017 can't come soon enough!
