Brian Sabean and Felipe Alou onboard through 2005

Before the start of the second Cactus League game this spring, the Giants announced that GM Brian Sabean and manager Felipe Alou will be returning to the club in 2005.

Because of their great chemistry in putting together and perfecting a good team, Brian Sabean and Felipe Alou are brought back in 2005. This will be Sabean's ninth year with the San Francisco Giants, and Alou's third.

Moments after Sabean's contract was extended, the first thing he did was exercise Alou's option. Sabean stated that Alou had a lot to do with how successful the Giants were last season, including their wire-to-wire, 100 games won accomplishment.

Despite the major changes on the team for a second consecutive season, Sabean and Alou are confident that they will be able to lead the team to a good season.

Alou is entering his 47th year in professional baseball, and with his contract extension, it will make 2005 an impressive 48 years for the veteran skipper.
