Giants Defeat Brewers 9-2

Three homers from the Giants led them to a win in this afternoon's spring training game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Maryvale Baseball Park.

Brett Tomko started today's game and achieved his first win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Tomko allowed only three and two in four innings. Yet, it was a different game for Brewers starter Travis Phelps. Phelps, who is hoping for a spot on the Milwaukee's rotation, allowed five hits and five runs in four innings.

Ray Durham led off with a homer over the right-center field wall for an early 1-0 lead. The Brewers were able to tie in their half of the inning, but the Giants kept on hitting.

On the first pitch, catcher, Yorvit Torrealba led off the second inning with a home run. Torrelba was 3-4 in today's game with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Brian Dallimore also had a good game. He not only hit a two-run home run, but also singled, stole a base and totaled three runs driven in.

The only two runs for the Brewers came off the bats of Scott Podsednik and Lyle Overbay. They both finished today's game going 2-for-4, each with an RBI.

This is the last time the Brewers and Giants will meet until the Giants home opener at SBC Park on April 12.
