SFDugout Minor League Notebook: 4/12

Here's a brief look into how each team into how the San Francisco Giants' minor league affiliates: Fresno Grizzlies (AAA), Norwich Navigators (AA), San Jose Giants (A), and the Hagerstown Suns (A) in yesterday's game, as well as other news concerning the team.

Game Notes:
Kevin Pickford had his first start this season allowing three runs on seven his in 4 1/3 innings. The Fresno Grizzlies were unable to keep their 5-2 lead on MOnday night. They started off the game with two runs in the first inning. Adam Shabala hit an RBI double to bring in infielder, Jamie Athas. First baseman Damon Minor, was able to reach base on a third base error by Edmonton right fielder Ryan Church when he dropped a fly ball. Shabala was able to score on this mistake. Trey Lunsford hit a roundtripper down the left field line to give the Grizzlies a 4-2 lead. Edmonton rallied in the fifth and tied it in the sixth. Mike Johnson, a former Grizzlies pitcher, hit a bloop over third baseman Brian Dallimore's head, which drove home two runs, giving the Trappers the lead.

Team Notes:
The Grizzlies have fallen to 1-4. The two teams will play again on Tuesday at 7:05pm. Adam Pettyjohn (0-1) will take the mound for the Grizzlies and face Edmonton right handed pitcher, Seung Song (0-0).


Game Notes:

The game against the Norwich Navigators at Altoona has been rained out. They will make up this game on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 as part of a double header starts at 5:05pm.

Game Notes:
With a five-run fifth inning, the San Jose Giants were able to produce a win against the Modesto A's, winning 8-3. Julio Cordido was 3-5 in the game. The Giants pitchers did a brilliant job keeping the A's in check. The A's were only able to get six hits against five of the Giants pitchers: Billy Sadler, Jason Waddell, James Garcia, Anthony Pannone, and Jeremy Accardo. Billy Sadler, who started for the Giants faced his childhood friend Modesto A's pitcher Derell McCall.


Game Notes:
Due to rain, the Hagerstown Suns and Hickory Crawdads have postponed their game to Tuesday night.
